Just curious.
Recently I downloaded an iso of V8.10 from the Kent Uni mirror.
Appeared to burn OK but had boot problems so downloaded another iso
from same site and again would not boot.
Tried an iso from the Virgin mirror and again it would not boot.
Then downloaded from a Czech mirror and the liveCD now boots fine.
Anyone else had a problem.
No.
Hey shit-for-brains, is that supposed to be helpful?
A thousand times more helpful than you could ever be, brain-drain genius
that you are.

Download finally completed. And the verdict is: LiveCD booted
cleanly. Install ran with no problems. Either they've corrected the
problem, or there wasn't one and you just forgot your meds... ;-)
Or your hardware is different!
Perhaps you didn't read the original question...
Perhaps you didn't?
The OP said he burnt several ISOs from different mirrors and they didn't
boot for him.
You appear to think that because you downloaded one of the ISOs that
didn't work for the OP and it did for you that this means the ISOs are OK.
However unless the OP is using the same sort of hardware it may be using
different bits of the ISO.
Therefore your inferences were not founded on good logic.
You could have run diff on the different ISO files to see if they were
the same. Then your inferences may have had a sound basis.
What a complete moron!

Did you run a verify on the burned CDs?
No I didn't, am using rewritables which to date have been fine with any
iso burns I have tried and it was the same disk used for the czech iso.
Geoff Lane
I use only rewritables and I've always had good success with them.
What fucking use is that to anyone?

To you obviously none.

Verify may be quite important on data disks but on an iso burn it'll
either work or it wont.
