In the case of an eternal universe,
'fantastical' is not the most
appropriate word, but 'self-consistent'.
So you want to discuss religion, rather than Science? The second law
of thermodynamics is inconsistent with an eternal Universe.
Hahahahhhahahhaha! ...and I suppose all that energy came from nowhere in your
fictitious big bloody bang, did it?
Eternal universe (i.e. without beginning
and without an end) is the reason of its
own existence, it didn't need a creator
or any Big Bang beginning whatsoever.
Just a suspension of the laws of "eternal" physics in our case, which
puts us in a special place again.

There was no "where" before the Big Bang (at least as being mappable
from here-now), so yes. But it is not my Big Bang. My version has
the CMBR "glow" being infalling light from our container Universe.
