I remeber wondering about what the got wrong when I first saw
that film... as a teenager. EMP arriving early enough to tell
one of the main actors to duck&cover? A nuke destroying a major
city, and you can still tell where the street grid was? Yeah,
right...

The houses were mostly wood constructions, IIRC, and burned away.
Brick or concrete buildings either survive, or fall over - but in
the movie they fell into neat piles...

Oh, and you have to watch 'Stealth' It is so bad it is
hilarious!
Lovely ideas such as using dirigibles for refluellling Mach 5
(or whatever) fighters, diving vertically at mach 5 to get a
bomb to penetrate the target and of course the robot that goes
killer after a lightning strike - what else?

well the last 1/2 of the movie was ok.
